Match report Having been put in Marchmont were 58 for 4 at the drinks interval after 23 overs. A position which seemed to favour us. This was altered by a change of gear by the host's No. 6 Z. Sheikh who, prior to the break, had spent 24 cautious minutes reaching 2. He went on the attack and while favouring the aerial route managed to hit the ball just over or short of fielders hoping for a catch. Dismissed immediately after reaching 50, caught off Eric's bowling by Asanka at mid off, his game changing work was continued by a busy eigth wicket partnership of 34 containing only one boundary.
Still on our from of earlier in the season 164 did not look the daunting target it might once have done. However, with the first eleven looking on after their early win at The Inch the batting crumbled and only a battling knock by Peter, supported by Eric, took us to a batting point. At the post mortem over a beer it was remarked how surprising it was that our opponents did not figure more prominently in the Div. 7 standings.
