Match report Asanka lost the first toss of the season and was asked to bat on a damp wicket. After a first wicket partnership of 15, wickets started falling at regular intervals. On a slow and low wicket, too many of Edinburgh South 2XI batsmen played across falling to accurate bowling from Holy Cross 2XI.

In taking the field, Edinburgh South 2XI showed the fighting spirit that won many games last season by capturing 3 early wickets for no runs on the board. Despite regular wickets, Holy Cross knocked off the required runs with two wickets to spare leaving us wondering what 20 more runs would have done.
