Edinburgh South Cricket Club 2nd XI v Clackmannan County CC 2nds on Sat 24 May 2008 at
Edinburgh South Cricket Club Lost by 11 runs
A maximum twelve points in a narrow defeat and a gutsy 50 partnership between Matthew and Jim for the seventh wicket were the main plus points in a match which was definitely "one that got away". It got away because we were unable to apply the coup de grace when Clacks. were on 102 for 9 and probably also because we played with ten men. In the field Johnwin bowled well and Peter, Matthew and Cameron held good catches, Matthew's drawing generous comment from our opponents as did his innings. They also commented in favourable terms on the condition of The Inch and left thinking that they had "played there get out of gaol card."
