Captain :
Paul Reddish
New Captain in 2007 having joined the club in 2006. Middle order batsman, occasional wicketkeeper and can also turn his arm over - the word bowler wouldn't be accurate. Loads of energy and infectious enthusiasm has certainly helped when getting to grips with skippering this lot! He hates having his photo taken!
Vice Captain :
Hitesh Patel
Players
Ammad Ahmad
Right Arm Leg Spinner and Right Hand Batsman
Samab Ali Ahmad
Right Hand Batsman and Medium Fast Bowler
suresh bardabad
Charlie Barratt
When the rhythm is right and he’s firing on all cylinders there’s nobody bowls faster in this league or many others. Acrobatic and spectacular fielder and a bit handy with the bat as well.
Marty Bourke
The Melbourne based all rounder played one game before heading back to Australia to try and relaunch his singing career. Will he be back? Depends how rubbish his singing is ...
James Brims
Simply "The Legend" - has taken over 1000 wickets and scored almost 10000 runs for Mitre/Edinburgh South. Captained the team for 1980 to 1999!!!
Matthew Chapman
Riyaz Charania
Phillip Dalby
Asanka De Silva
Abhishek Desai
Gerry Dodson
Grandpa of the team. Never mind the ten weans back home. Ambitious lower order right hand batsman, slow left arm spinner. Optimist: “if I don’t know what’s coming next, what hope does the batsman have?”
James France
Ready for his step up in class with both bat and ball in 2010!!
Peter Fyfe
Roshan Giany
Young, talented and enthusiastic all rounder who always likes to be involved in the game. Top order batsman with loads of potential and a good technique, a useful medium fast bowler and lively in the field. Has definitely improved as a cricketer since investing in a pair of white trousers!!!
Fraser Gordon
Alastair Jack
Rumoured to have played in the same team as W G Grace. Alledgedly carried his bat for 1 not out when opening the batting in a 20 over game ... or it might have been a 40 over game. Our oldest playing member and in danger of achieving legendary status!
Jack Kennedy
A D Khan
Madan Lal
Middle Order RHB
Peter Leigh
Here he is, our very own Karaoke Queen, the Brisbane Banana bender, Peter Leigh! One of the best fielders in the club, and famous for batting in his cagoule. Needs to buy some whites!
John Logan
Off-spinner and lower order right arm batsman. Taking up the game again after a 8 year hiatus, and gradually getting back into the swing of things.
Ashraff Makda
Chris Malcolm
Nick Martin
Gus McLean
An East League legend. Although a seasoned veteran his love and enthusiasm for his beloved cricket has not diminished. The simple recipe of “line and length”, “you miss I hit” and a dash of intelligence and guile has seen him take many wickets at minimal cost!
Colin Mills
Mohit Mishra
Thomas Monkhouse
Right hand bat, Right arm bowler
Peter Mounstephen
Kamran Naqvi
Enthusiastic Bowler, (highly) Optimistic Appealer and (un)reliable fielder. Loves to shine the bowl and proudly calls himself "The Shiner". Having achieved his first 50 recently, his target for this season is to score 195 runs to break Saeed Anwar's world record.
Sam Peart
Amin Pirani
Talented hard-hitting batsman with the target of scoring his first club 100 this season. Managed 87 in 2007 so he might well achieve his aim. More than useful spin bowler and an enthusiastic fielder and appealer!!! Often sees plumb LBWs from deep mid-wicket which those with a better view have failed to spot!
Mo Plume
Bill Polson
Long serving right hand bat, who has batted through the order from 1 to 11, and off spinner(at least in August at Inch Park). Has also filled a number of positions on the East of Scotland C. A. committee. Anxiously awaiting the relaunch of the second eleven. For 2008 make that the third eleven. aka Mr Mitre
shreehari ramakrishna
i'm a big fan of cricket and i was a member of BEL cricket club for 3 years in INDIA. i represented my university as well.
Sohail Rupani
Zoheb Rupani
David Rushworth
Positive right handed shot maker who can both keep wicket and bowl spin.
Julian Russell
Jubin Shah
RMF & Middle Order Bat
Terry Stephens
Hassan Syed
Srihari Tejaa
Stuart Templeton
AKA Trevor!
Kshitiz Tiwari
Brian Toward
The big man from the wege. Looks like he can score a few runs, but if he starts playing as well as some of his chat to the opposition batsman he'll score hatfuls!
Derek Wright
Probably too old now to retain the "promising youngster" tag. Steady opening batsman and wicket keeper. Considers himself the most handsome man at the club. A quiet, modest chap who has been vice captain to a club record number of captains!
