Match report A Development cricket match at Peffermill on Midsummer's Day ? Good idea ! On a gloomy rainy evening - not so good. The redeeming features were a reduction in overs to 16 and for your scorer shelter in a football dug out.
There were a few incidents of note starting with Mike Kennedy launching the Carlton innings in typical fashion with 26 in 9 balls which took him beyond the retirement mark set at 25. In our innings Sohail and Abdul, on his club debut, put on 32 for the first wicket and at the other end of the innings Ramona and Kalyan adding 13 in an unbroken 9th wicket partnership lasting only 4 balls. Due to an injury Ramona was batting with Sam as her runner and this led to all run 5 for Kalyan. This concluded what Jeeves might have called an "aquatic disportment."
