Edinburgh South CC’s women’s team finished their indoor season on a high with a successful outing at Sunday’s ‘Wee Bash’ tournament.
Taking place at the National Cricket Academy, the tournament welcomed more than 70 players from across Scotland, with ten teams taking part in a fun round-robin format.
The fast-paced six-a-side matches were played in the lightning five-over format with Edinburgh South’s squad of eight facing off against teams from Strathmore, Murrayfield DAFS, and Falkland, in addition to two Watsonian sides.
There were plenty of opportunities to put the skills learnt over the winter into action, with players impressing in all facets of the game - batting, bowling and fielding. It was also great to see a few new players make their competitive debuts for the club.
The whole tournament was played in a fantastic spirit - it was a wonderful opportunity to meet and play against teams from all over the country, and see women’s cricket continue to go from strength to strength.
A massive thank you goes to Cricket Scotland and Beyond Boundaries for making the tournament possible and to Cameron Toll Shopping Centre for their ongoing support of the Club’s women’s section.
