Another successful senior season in the bag
The 2025 season wrapped up in September for our senior men’s sides in the Cricket Scotland and ESCA leagues. Alongside standout results on the field, it has been a bumper year off it, with continued growth and development across the club and a steady stream of new members strengthening every squad. Final league details are confirmed over the winter and we will share any updates as and when they come.
1st XI - 7th of 10, Eastern Premier League (W-L: 5-9)
Our debut year in the top flight ended in a very respectable seventh place. The 1s stepped up to their new division with confidence, taking a few high-profile scalps and staying competitive throughout the campaign. We remain Scotland’s only park team in the Premier League and we will contest it again next year.
Top batter: Adnan Mufti, 681 runs (HS 78).
Top bowler: Safwan Ullah, 28 wickets (best 3 for 31).
2nd XI - Champions, Division 3 (W-L: 13-3) 🏆
Back-to-back champions and promoted again, making it five consecutive promotions for the 2s. A long unbeaten spell through the middle of the season set the tone, with consistent top-order runs and disciplined bowling carrying the side past strong rivals home and away. It underlines the strength and depth across our elite performance squads for seasons to come.
Top batter: George O’Neill, 555 runs (HS 85).
Top bowler: Vipin Gupta, 31 wickets (best 5 for 29).
3rd XI - Champions, Division 6 (W-L: 12-3) 🏆
Composed, organised and calm under pressure. The 3s won several exceptionally close fixtures and managed key moments well, defending low totals and finishing tight chases with smart, low-risk batting. That resilience delivered the title and promotion.
Top batter: Sajad Ali, 352 runs (HS 86*).
Top bowlers: Jeremy Blood and Jaskaran Singh, 22 wickets each (best 4 for 26 and 4 for 12).
4th XI - 6th of 10, Division 7 (W-L: 6-8; one tie)
A solid mid-table finish in a competitive division. The 4s mixed experience with new faces, with several players stepping up from junior and social cricket. That development fed higher up the club as confidence and availability improved over the summer.
Top batter: Aaron Mundin, 176 runs (HS 70).
Top bowler: Shafay Ehsan, 24 wickets (best 3 for 16).
5th XI - 3rd of 8, Division 9 (W-L: 8-4)
A huge leap forward after recording only one win in their debut season in 2024. The 5s built momentum, turned tight games their way and showed real consistency across the run-in. A third-place finish may be enough to bag promotion, depending on the structure of the ESCA divisions for the 2026 season.
Top batter: Gordon Brown, 323 runs (HS 93*).
Top bowler: Dharmesh Parekh, 19 wickets (best 4 for 16).
Thank you to the players and volunteers who scored and umpired on the day, helped with groundwork and set-up, supported the live streams, ran training sessions, drove teams to games and kept the club running like a well-oiled machine. Your efforts made 2025 a success and set us in good stead for next season.
