Match report A disappointing end to the league campaign on a bleak day against opponents who both knew that they needed a win to be certain of remaining in Division 7 and had that in their mindset as they went about securing it on a damp wicket which tended to keep low.
The positives from our point of view were Sohail carrying his bat for 37 not out (163 minutes, 133 balls), Praveen's positive start which included the only two boundaries of the innings. Pete Kingsley, on league debut, displaying a stout defence in support of Sohail, proving again the addage that "you can't score runs if you are back in the pavilion", a fine low catch by Suresh, Gerry's wicket which was a prime example of his well documented "cfs" and the collection of four points.
We bade farwell to departing teamates Eric and Suresh, both of whom have played significant parts in a successful season, and were glad to be heading back to Edinburgh where spirits were lifted on learning of our First team's victory.
