Match report The Mitres were narrowly defeated by Scottish Widows, with 7 balls to spare, in an enjoyable and closely fought 18 overs-a-side friendly

Akshay and Durga batted superbly, each scoring a rapid half century. Several batsmen fell in the final few overs - including Will George, unfortunately given out leg before by an unnamed umpire - as the Mitres posted a competitive 146.

An early wicket from Durga, appeared to give the Mitres the advantage. But the match was won by a 99 run 2nd wicket partnership between Hannam (61*) and Edwards (51). Both batted superbly, in particular scoring heavily off the Mitres slow bowlers. Although a few difficult catches were dropped, the Mitres had plenty to be proud of, in particular excellent but luckless spells by Vishnu, Durga and Shah.
