Match report An absorbing T20 affair at the Arboretum Oval in North Edinburgh. Played in good light conditions though with an ever increasing wind-chill as the game progressed!

Holy Cross were put into bat (a mutual agreement between to the 2 sides, as opposed to the toss of a coin). Initial tight bowling by Farooq and Shah was quickly replaced by more than a few over & under pitched balls coupled with a few dropped catches, which saw Holy Cross race to a daunting 101 from 10 overs.
Cue Magnus and James to eat into their run rate & also their wickets for column, along with sharp, if defensively set fielding, saw Holy Cross finish on 168/5.

The Mitres opened up their reply with Jim and Shah putting on a solid 51 run partnership before they both were dismissed within quick succession to balls that far belied their batting abilities. Cue some powerful middle-order hitting from Praveen, supported by willing partners in Craig and Andrew Buddery. Andrew Barrie fell cheaply batting at no. 6 which led to James setting out to play a Captain's innings and try and chase down an ever increasing required run-rate, with the score on 97/6. Lusty blows from James and plucky play from Andrew Buddery saw the pair put on a 50 partnership in the space of 5 overs to see us home to a respectable 147/5, still 21 runs short of the set target.

A narrow defeat, but many positives to take, including 2 50-run partnerships. Real finds in Magnus's varied spin bowling & Andrew Buddery's batting (his first innings in 10 years!).
