Match report Sent in on a cold windy afternoon, ESCC 2s soon built a formidable score. The cornerstone was a very fine 119 by Akshay, supported by steady contributions from Sohail and Shashank. It is very seldom we pass 150 with only 1 wicket down. This platform gave licence to Asanka to accelerate, then Daryll led the final blast in the last 3 overs. 272 for 6 must be close to a 2nd XI record total. Just a word for Nic, who pulled a hamstring while batting: hope you soon recover.

After Livingston 2s lost a couple of early wickets, their innings was always going to struggle to achieve the required rate. Generous offerings in the form of dropped catches by at least half the team, nearly all off Gerry, allowed Livi some respectability. Not for the first time, Murali was the pick of our bowlers, with four wickets - for some reason his catches stuck today!

Overall, this was an impressive result, and maintains the promotion push.
