Match report Call offs in the firsts had a knock on effect for the lower teams, and so deciding to bat first did not produce the dominant start of a few weeks back - 20 for 4 after 10 overs. A strong crosswind aided the swing bowlers. Murali, Shekar and Vishnu did their best to advance the score, but 135 was always going to be hard to defend.

Our bowling and fielding had to be good to make Heriots 3s compete. Many of their batsmen got into double figures, only to be dismissed on attempting more forceful shots. Six catches were held. Judicious switching of the attack eked out the overs, and Asanka in particular cashed in with three late wickets. A very tense finish built up, but it was frustrating to concede the last three runs required in wides.

A game played in friendly fashion on a lovely day, for a change. It was unfortunate that one side had to lose, but even worse when that was us!
