Match report Late morning rain delayed the start until 1.25 p.m. but at least the Fourths did end their inaugural season on the field following seven weeks of team inactivity caused by cancellations or concessions.
The side contained four players making their debut among whom Tom Dean both made the top score in our innings and held a towering catch. During his innings Tom displayed great application and technique, including footwork and received support from Karthik and Ian in double figure partnerships. The lower order, however, arrived at the wicket and departed it with rapidity leaving Tom undefeated after 21.3 overs at the crease. At the excellent rate at which SMRH bowled their overs this represents approximately 70 minutes batting.
