Match report Batting first after losing the toss once again the scoreboard soon had a worryingly familiar look for the eight man 4ths - 5 for 3 after 3 overs. However Dom and Andy Barrie were undaunted by this and by batting sensibly put on 44 in just under 17 overs. (This stand is greater than either of our innings total at Liberton this season.) In the later stages of the partnership Andy played cop to Dom's prop and the latter continued to show the benefit of playing straight to remain undefeated when, following a stand of 14 with Ahmed, the last three wickets fell for two runs.
Ahmed induced the visiting No. 2 to hit his wicket and Dom followed this by clinging on to a steepler off his own bowling to make it 11 for 2. Ahmed harnessed the surface well to end his 8 overs with five wickets, the last of which was thanks to a catch by 'keeper Andrew Murray diving in front of the stumps. Dom tested the batsmen in his stint despite carrying injuries so that when the opening bowlers were bowled out Glenrothes were 29 for 6. Andy and Bill then combined in an all spin attack which produced a c. & b. for Andy and a juggling catch by Ahmed at forward short leg off Bill's bowling. Although other chances were created the opposition edged their way to the target.
