Match report By way of clarification the 4ths hosts were Glenrothes 4ths and not as shown in the heading. The home side won the toss and elected to bat.
Several chances had not been accepted before South 4s captured the first wicket when Bradley Bonthrone and 'keeper Andy Barker combined to claim a run out after 25.5 overs. This prompted an inspired bowling change by captain Peter G when he brought on Brad to bowl over number 27. By its end he had claimed two wickets, the first with his first delivery when Robert Edwards took a good catch at mid wicket. Later in the over Brad made a successful appeal for lbw and followed this in his third over with a second lbw victim before giving Andy Barker a stumping in his final over. Glenrothes completed their 40 overs with a total 230 for 5.
In our reply Fyfey was dismissed in the second over but his opening partner, who else but Brad, and No. three Robert Edwards batted well to put on 53 for the second wicket. After Brad had been bowled for 27 Robert continued for almost 11 more overs but his innings ended when he lofted a catch with his score on 29. Eoghan boosted our total a score of 27 but this and other contributions were not quite enough to gain a 5th batting point. However, this was one of our better batting displays and we had shown resilience in the field after a big opening partnership.
