Match report Mike won the toss and invited SMRH 2nds to bat. After 3.1 overs he combined with Karl in taking the first wicket when home opener E.A. Campbell edged a a lifting delivery in "the corridor of uncertainty" into Mike's gloves. The next two wickets fell to catches by Farhan off the bowling of Wiqas and they were two very contrasting catches. The first low down at point and the second a skier on the deep square leg boundary. Later Omkar and Manu brought the total of catches to five for the afternoon. However, it should not be entirely overlooked that around twice that number of chances were dropped, although in mitigation of the charge of "butter-fingers" two or three of those that were put down would have been contenders for catch of the season if they had been held.
Wiqas returned the best bowling figures of 5 for 29 but in this match he bowled in two spells of four overs rather than eight overs straight through. Harry bowled his eight overs in one spell in returning figures of 2 for 16 and drew several comments from the home batsmen on the quality of his swing bowling.

Chasing 153 to win South were 33 for 2 from 6 overs with Paul and Manu back on the bench seats. Simon T suffered a hamstring injury when batting confidently and retired hurt with the total on 53 from 10 overs so Karl was joined by Rajeev. Karl was batting fluently and Rajeev positively and it appeared that they would take us to victory together at a canter but with "Nelson" on the board Karl edged one into slips hands but 88 had been added since Simon had walked out at the fall of the second wicket.Mike came in and hit his second ball for 4 while Rajeev carried on as before. The pair turned the canter into a gallop as they scored the last 42 runs required for the win in 32 balls.
