Match report Paul lost the toss and we were put in to bat.In damp conditions we reached 21 for 2 in 7.1 overs at which point Simon T joined Karl for the first vital partnership of the innings. This produced 62 runs in 19.1 overs through sound batting before Simon T scooped Largo's fifth bowler into the hands of square leg. Karl departed, run out, 6 runs later 89/4)for a well made 50 (4 x 4,1x6). This was the prelude to the second key partnership of the innings between Rajeev and Roshan. It started as though it was a new John Cleese sketch with the title "The Ministry of Silly Runs" when Roshan dropped his bat and then paused to pick it up. However, no harm was done and the pair sharpened up their running and also hit seven boundaries in a stand of 59 for the 5th wicket at a run a ball - just what's needed during the last ten overs. Harry W gave the total a late boost by hitting the second six of the innings in the final over.(37.2 overs were bowled by Largo before rain interrupted the innings which was completed after tea was taken as the squall passed and the ground recovered with assistance from Paul and the sopper.)
Good bowling by Farhan and Karl made an early breach in the Largo batting order reducing them to 14 for 4(2 bowled victims for Farhan and 2 l.b.w.s for Karl) in 8.5 overs. Luke and Harry W bowled tightly and the required run rate grew to the extent that Paul was able to employ variations in the bowling attack during the closing overs.
