Match report The day had started with the wonderful good news of the arrival of a baby daughter for Lucy and Paul Reddish and that all three were well. It did,however, mean that Paul had had to be replaced in the eleven while Karl stood in as acting captain. At the toss Karl called correctly and put St.Boswells into bat.
Harry W claimed the first wicket with an inswinger which bowled visiting opener R. Young with the score on 22 from 8.5 overs. Tight bowling by Harry, Wiqas and Indy kept the scoring rate down but the next wicket did not fall until the end of the 28th over when T. Goodman cut a short ball from Luke into the hands of Charanjit (deputising for Paul) at point. Indy grabbed a c.& b. chance with the first ball of the next over and followed this with another wicket in his next over - the last of his eight. Harry returned to the attack to claim three more wickets in his second spell while Farhan took a late wicket.
Charanjit hit the first ball of our reply to the boundary and he continued in attacking mode in an opening partnership with Manu which ended when the latter was bowled after 7.4 overs with 43 on the board. Karl was content to play a supporting role as Charanjit continued to harvest runs in reaching 50 from 42 balls. He was out to a smart slip catch a few balls later with the total on 81 from 14.3 overs. Karl was joined by Hasan and they both scored freely as we reached our target shortly after the drinks break at 20 overs.
