Match report M-DAFS were invited to bat when Mike won the toss on a bright but chilly afternoon which became chillier as the afternoon went on. Charlie and Karl were treated with respect in the early overs but the visiting batsmen got on top and took charge of the middle period of the innings. Charlie, Karl and Farhan returned to the attack and they regained some control and took wickets, one of which featured a fine catch by Farhan off Karl. The main prongs of the attck were assisted in this by a tight spell by Wiqas who was the seventh bowler used.
Our innings got off to a poor start when Paul dragged the ball on to his stumps in the second over and two overs later Karl was run out after slipping as he attempted to regain his ground. Abhi batted purposefully for almost an hour while Mike gave him support and Luke batted defiantly as our tail was docked.
