Match report Captain Eoghan lost the toss again but was happy to be batting first in the Gilmerton Road Derby. He must have been overjoyed when Charanjit and Simon put on a "cop and prop" opening partnership of 102 in 12.5 overs after 52 minutes batting. Charanjit had gone to his 50 in 29 balls after half an hour before he was first out, caught at cover, for 76. Simon was adjudged caught behind with the score on 113 and Eoghan also fell to a catch to make the score 121 for 3 after 19 overs. the next eight overs consisted of a stand of 83 by Nab and Paul with the latter being caught on 23. Nab was well on his way to a fine fifty (52 minutes) and retired with 56 to his name while Daniel scampered up and down in the closing overs to take us to 244 for 6 in 35 overs.
As Simon had to leave early Farhan came in by arrangement and opened the bowling - we are working to amend the current scorecard to show that. Farhan dismissed an opener after 4.1 overs when Dib held on to an attempted square cut. Kiran bowled the other opener after the KB second wicket had added 59 at which point the visiting number 3, G. Singh was 45 not out, on his way to a score of 115. His presence kept the Badgers in the game even though Jaskaran Singh claimed a hat trick with the last 2 balls of his second over (both bowled) and the first ball of his third (an edge to Paul behind the stumps). KB 88 for 5 from 19.1. A stand of 73 for the sixth wicket ended when Jaskaran claimed his 4th wicket by having the centurion caught by Farhan at short third man with 7.1 overs left. From there we eased home to a comfortable victory.
