Match report There was a buzz of cricket activity at Inch Park, with two games, a women's practice and a Junior Cricket Stars session led by Colin Mills and Michael Brown on Inch Neuk - the other side of the Braid Burn - on a bright cool evening marking the first day of Autumn.

This close and enjoyable match had a grand climax with the Carlton XI needing 4 to win off the final ball of their 16 overs. Although Farhan bowled a ball which the batsman could only push into the leg side for a possible two a fielding error did give them the opportunity to attempt a third to earn a tie. However, the South fielders recovered their composure and completed the run out for a one run victory.

The home side had batted first and the vital contribution to their total came from an undefeated partnership of 79 for the fourth wicket by Kiran, who had opened and Dib. Kiran finished with 58* (5 x 4 and 2 x 6) while Dib hit 4 x 4 in reaching 30*.

Farhan hit both the Carlton openers stumps in an opening burst of 2 for 3 off 3 overs. Nab and Dib did the same to remove Nos. 4 and 5 while Eoghan had their number 3, Dougal Main caught when Nab held on to a skier off the last ball of the 15th over. Dougal with 71, having come in after 5 balls of the innings, had hit the ball confidently to take his side to the position of needing 9 from the final over before Farhan closed out our win.
