Match report On a bright early September Sunday afternoon this well contested 30 over match was clearly much enjoyed by the participants. It contained elements of Cricket "Ancient and Modern".

As the Mitres only had 9 players and Murrayfield-Dafs had appeared with 13, two of the visitors were transferred to our ranks to level the numbers. In cricket's early days in the late 1700s this happened quite frequently and in the parlance of the time our team would probably been described as Edinburgh South Mitres with 2 "given men" v Murrayfield-Dafs. The Modern game was represented by an uncontested toss.

Our given men were Vivek Tyagi and Lewis Mulholland who opened the bowling with the latter claiming two wickets. They also featured in our two most productive partnerships with the bat. Vivek (16) put on 41 for the fourth wicket with Douglas Blood and Lewis (27) combined with Farhan in a stand of 42 for the 6th wicket. Behind the stumps Douglas Blood took 2 catches one of which was off the bowling of brother Broy.
