Match report Eoghan won the toss and asked Heriot's to bat on our artificial wicket as it had not been possible to prepare a pitch on the square due to the breakdown of our roller. Catches behind the wicket by Nab earned our first three wickets. The first two were off Daniel who had opened at the Inch House end. He bowled his ration of eight overs in succession and finished with the excellent figures of 2 for 6. It was Farhan who would find the edge for Nab's third catch and when he took a caught and bowled this made the visitors 91 for 4 from 28.5 overs. Opener Naresh was still at the crease with 49 to his name and it appeared likely that Heriot's might get close to the target of 175 which they had set themselves. However, Eoghan changed that by bowling both Sale and Raghu in the same over and followed this at the start of his final over by having Naresh (71) well caught by George on the long-on boundary so that at the end of their 40 overs Heriot's were 147/9.
Nab and Dean got our innings going at the required rate but with 39 on the board, Nab mistimed an attacking shot and was caught at mid-off. Dean fell ten runs later to an astonishing diving catch at square leg and this brought George to join Will at the wicket. Together they ensured victory with a partnership of patient accumulation which added 80 in 19 overs. After George was bowled for 28 Will went on to reach an 80 ball 50 which was very much the goal he had set himself before going out to bat.
