Match report Put into bat on a damp wicket a tally of around 130 looked to be the height of our ambition at 3 for 3 at the end of the second over. The repair job done by Sohail and Madan exceeded all expectations as their 4th wicket partnership put on 118 in 23.2 overs. Sohail went for 35 but Madan stayed to complete his debut fifty in 71 balls. After a run-a-ball cameo by Matthew, Asanka flayed the home bowlers to reach his fifty from 30 balls and Farukh's late undefeted 6 ball flourish boosted the final tally.
Asanka also had a good day with the ball in picking up 3 wickets, Gerry was on the same mark and Vishnu went one better. Matthew and Vishnu both held two catches, with Vishnu's first being a skier off his own bowling. Madan completed his day with a smart slip catch off Gerry. An exceptional result given our start and our "wide" count was down also.
