Match report
Grange won the toss and sent South in to bat. This was the prelude to a batting master class by Adnan, who was the first of the home side's heroes of the day. Adnan opened the innings and batted throughout to finish 128 not out. facing 150 balls in the process. His shots ranged from glances and cuts, which mainly used whatever pace was already on the ball, to front foot drives. He reached 50 from 68 balls and 100 from 125 balls, struck 12 boundaries and his only 6 was struck off the 147th delivery which he received. He shared in partnerships of 37 for the first wicket, with Kam, 34 for the 2nd with Asad, 49 for the 3rd with Nab, 51 for the 4th with Abhi, 31 for the 5th with Charanjit and 34 for the 6th with Amiya.
Manik was our bowling hero with a five wicket haul. He started with an lbw verdict after 3.4 overs and gained his second at the end of the 8th over, thanks to a catch by Abhi. Safi contributed a wicket with the first ball of the next over when Amiya took the first of 2 catches which he made. Manik then took his 3rd wicket in the following over when Asad held a catch at squre leg so that Grange were 33 for 4 at the end of the 10 over power play and became 40 for 5 when Manik hit Angelini's stumps13.1 overs. Nab made a double change soon after and Asad took a wicket in his first over when Amiya took his second catch. In the 22nd over Asad had the home captain lbw and in the next Safi took a catch off Bilal. After the 25 over drinks break rain took the players off the field for 8 minutes and soon after the resumption Manik returned to the attack and earned his fifth wicket when he bowled Armstrong-Jones with the third ball of his 10th and final over. Mir brought the match to a close by bowling F. Peet in the next over for a comprhensive victory.
