Match report South batted first making 59 but made a gallant attempt to qualify for the final of the Challenger Cup with early success in the field and a flurry of late wickets. Our fielding was sharp throughout and our bowling lines were much improved.
Direct hit run outs from Yallene and Marcelina made Grange 16 for 2 from 2.2 overs. However, C. Murray, the Grange captain, then scored freely before retiring after passing 30. After this we secured another run out when Isla K removed the bails from Yallene's throw and in the 8th over Yallene bowled two visitors with successive balls. At the start of the next over Marcelina scored a second direct hit run out dismissal and there was some anxiety developing in the Grange ranks. This was overcome with the return to the crease of Murray, who in true captain's fashion steered her side to victory.
