Edinburgh South Cricket Club 3rd XI v Tranent 2nds on Sat 04 Jun 2016 at 1pm
Edinburgh South Cricket Club Lost by 151 runs

Match report On a very hard and extremely fast pitch with a vague hint at where the boundary should be our bowling and fielding coped reasonably well until just after drinks, which is when we took our first wicket. Another wicket followed and we thought that things had turned. They had but not for the better: Srinivasan, dropped down from Tranent 1s to find some form found it in style with a blazing century savaging the majority of bowling that he faced. Tight bowling from Dom and Owen Gorman held things in check somewhat and a canny piece of bowling from Jake to take Tranat's second-top scoring batsman via a stumping of a wide meant that we didn't quite have to chase 300+

In reply we gave our best batting performance to-date, surviving the full 40 overs, just, but with a most notable performance from Jake Amis, joint top-scoring with ever-solid Karamjit with 35 runs to his name, including a couple of Gower-like 4s.
