Match report Recreation Park, North Berwick was a new venue for the ten man Mitres who were put into bat. Our innings improved as it went on, after Peter had contributed 10 to a score of 11 for 2. Terry dug in for 15.3 overs to support Gus in a stand of 37 for the sixth wicket. Gus then combined with Kamran to put on an undefeated 41 for the seventh wicket.
Our fortunes in the field also improved during the home innings. The Bass Rock openers were not parted until 63 runs were on the board but after resting from his batting exertions Kamran produced his second good spell of the weekend combining with Gus to make inroads into the middle order. One of Kamran's victims fell to a fine low catch by James behind the stumps. Martin chipped in with two wickets and Gair who had been desperately unlucky in his opening spell got a reward in his final over so the home side had to fight their way over the line rather than cruise to their win.
