Holy Cross 2nds v Edinburgh South Cricket Club 2nd XI on Sat 05 May 2018 at 1pm
Edinburgh South Cricket Club Lost by 7 wickets

Match report Ian Ross won the toss and elected to bat first on a sunny afternoon on what looked like a pretty good wicket at Arboretum.

Batting didn't go very well. Nobody looked in great touch and if it wasn't for the contributions from 'Extras' we would have struggled to get past 50. The innings finally finished for 51 when Graham missed a straight one and lost his off stump. We can only improve next week!

The bowling went better. Kshitiz and Pete opened and their tight lines were rewarded with a wicket a piece. Kshitiz removed the opener, Cydzik, who was caught at 1st slip by Ian for whom the use of his hands was an afterthought as he clung on to the ball with his knees. Pete got trapped Quinn LBW with a ball that straightened. As usual Gerry pitched in with a wicket as his tantalisingly flighted delivery was misjudged by Fraser and took out the off stump. Unfortunately we were unable to get any further wickets although a few shots did go in the air they fell beyond the reach of the enthusiastic, if not always athletic, fielders.
