Match report Katie sent Carlton in to bat on a blustery day at Peffermill. Skipper McGill and Katherine Fraser both had an early success but this brought together Ruth Willis, the Carlton captain, and Annette Aitken-Drummond who added 119 for the third wicket before Katie claimed three more wickets when returning to bowl in the closing stages. Katie and Katherine were also the mainstays of our innings in a partnership of 40 for the second wicket before the middle and lower order were overcome by accurate bowling and fielding by a Carlton side who had clearly set their stall out both to make amends for their defeat in the league and make a show in the Scottish Cup.
A week later Ruth Willis played two more fifty plus innings on Finals day as Carlton won the Cup by beating West of Scotland C.C.
