Match report The start of this C.S. Challenge Cup SEmi-Final at McKane Park, Dunfermline was delayed for half an hour by the umpires to allow more drying to take place after adownpour during the night. Although the covers had been on it was clear that batting would not be an easy task in the early stages of the match so it was noo surprise that on losing the toss Morton asked South to bat.
Adnan and Abhi put on 45 for the second wicket and Adnan's departure to a self preservation catch by the bowler was a crucial early moment in the tie. Qasim's innings included the first 6 of the match and Nab took control of the last 10 overs in a stand of 75 (56 balls) for the 6th wicket with Dougie. Although Nab caught the eye with 5 maximums and 3 of his four 4s Dougie played his part by running well and rotating the strike.
As expected batting was now very much easier and Morton raced to victory although Abhi, who also held a fine catch on the boundary, and Adnan did strive hard to apply a brake to their scoring rate.
