Match report Carlton batted first after winning the toss against a short handed South team but sportingly allowed 3 fielding substitutes from their ranks. Marcelina gave early encouragement to the side she was leading by claiming a wicket with the 5th ball of her second over when she clipped the top of off stump to send Sladen's off bail to the ground and with her next ball bowled Beith as the batter played across the line. From then on it was hard work for our depleted bowling attack with the first retiral coming after 5.1 overs. Catherine captured our other wicket when Freya held a fine wicketkeeping catch which brought great acclaim from both her team and the home bench and their supporters. This wicket fell after 9.3 overs with the home score on 81. For the record Freya handed the gloves over to Rhona at the end of the 12th over.
