Getting to nets

15 Feb 2016

Evening cricketers

So you'll have received an email from our illustrious Chairman about nets and how we need to get as many people to come along. The reasons are multiple, firstly we want to hit the season running, improve our skills and get creaky muscles moving, secondly we need the nets to pay for themselves - we try to keep it cheap, only £3 for 2 hours of practice is a bargain.

So anyway, to help us along i've done some research for those who arent able to easily get to Merchiston Castle (EH13 0PU) which is across the road from the Redford Infantary Barracks.

There are 3 bus routes which stop directly outside the school. These routes are below and i've noted the main areas which the routes go through
Number 10 - Leith, Princes St, Lothian Rd, Polwarth Gd, Colinton Rd, Craiglockhart, NETS, Bonaly
Number 18 (first bus on a sunday) - Little France, Gilmerton Rd, Mortonhall, Comiston, Oxgangs, NETS, Longstone, South Gyle
Number 45 - Potobello, Meadowbank, Bridges, Brunstfield, Colinton Rd, NETS, Currie, HWU

That's one part of it. The other is a request to those who drive to nets. If you have space in your car and are willing to pick people up on the way, can i ask you to post on Facebook in advance the route you are going and roughly when.

We will create a new post each week on our Facebook page for drivers to reply to, and people seeking lifts can say where they are.

Cheers. Please can we take this opportunity to get down to nets, meet up with old friends, dust off the skills and maybe even learn some new ones.
