Going into week 3, Spirit were looking to maintain their strong start and Originals were seeking their first win.
Match one: Originals v Superchargers
Superchargers won the toss and elected to bowl. Originals’ first pair had a steady start and put on 28, setting the groundwork for a challenging score. However, good bowling and fielding pegged back the next two pairs, who added only 3, with Originals finishing on 31. It looked like Originals would still be searching for their first win after setting a low target. However, some tight bowling meant Superchargers were never in the running and eventually finished on 12, giving Originals their first win of the league.

Match two: Originals v Fire
Originals went into the game buoyed by their first win. Fire won the toss and elected to bowl. Originals’ first two pairs had difficulty scoring and, after 8 overs, the score was 32; it looked set for another low-scoring game, but the last pair accelerated to post a respectable 60. Fire started slowly and were never at the required rate: with cautious batting and wickets falling regularly, they were on 7 after 8 overs. Despite some clever batting and running by the last pair, the target was beyond them and Fire finished on 24, giving Originals a 36-run win.

Match three: Rockets v Spirit
Spirit went into the game looking to maintain their fine form, and Rockets were aiming to build on their first win in week two. Rockets won the toss and elected to bat. Their innings never really got going, with partnerships of 19, 5, and 19, giving a final score of 43, which did not look enough against a strong Spirit batting line-up. Rockets gave themselves a chance by restricting the first two Spirit pairs to 34, but some strong hitting from the last Spirit pair, who put on 37, meant Spirit won by 28 and recorded their third victory.
