Match week 4 round up - Winter 2025 Indoor League

26 Oct 2025

Week four saw Superchargers playing two games and looking to move up the table, Spirit aiming to maintain their good form and extend their lead, and Originals looking to build on their first two wins. Rockets and Fire were both aiming to get back to winning ways.

Game one: Superchargers v Fire

Fire won the toss and elected to bowl. Superchargers got off to a fast start with 20 off the first two overs but were pegged back to finish the opening partnership on 32. The next two pairs built on that base and added 54 without losing a wicket, taking the total to 86. Fire had a decent start, the first pair scored 24, leaving them slightly behind the required rate but still in with a chance. At halfway, Fire were 52, needing 35 more to pass Superchargers, but some good bowling saw Superchargers take seven wickets in six overs, restricting Fire to a final total of 36.

Points: Superchargers 23, Fire 4

Game two: Superchargers v Spirit

Superchargers won the toss and elected to bat and had a solid start, with the first pair putting on 34 and a big score looking possible. Tight bowling and good fielding pulled back the run rate; the second pair managed only three, losing four wickets. The final pair increased the rate and the innings closed on 55, which was respectable and defendable. Spirit started well: the first pair put on 48, leaving Superchargers needing wickets to recover the situation, but great batting from the second pair took the game away as they added another 48 without loss. The stage was set for Spirit to reach 125 and take maximum batting points, a feat not yet achieved this season, and while Superchargers slowed the rate and took a couple of wickets, they could not prevent Spirit posting a gross 127 and a net 117.

Game three: Rockets v Originals

Rockets won the toss and elected to bat. The first pair had a strong start, putting on 40 for the loss of one wicket. The next two pairs built on that with 23 for three wickets and 19 for two wickets, giving a final net score of 82. The Originals’ first pair had a solid start, putting on 19 for the loss of one wicket, but good bowling pegged things back and the second pair finished on 17 after losing five wickets. The last pair tried to recover the situation and added 30 to close on 47.
