We're delighted to announce a generous donation of £230 from The Googly Fund, a charitable trust dedicated to supporting grassroots and friendly cricket across the UK.
The funds will be used to purchase vital protective equipment for the club's growing junior section, specifically to help young players transition into hardball cricket and take part in adult friendly and league matches. This investment helps ensure that cost is not a barrier for local children who want to take the next step in their cricket development.
Shaman Kumar, the club's junior coach, expressed his gratitude for the support:
"We are incredibly grateful to The Googly Fund for this donation. This money will go directly towards buying the pads, gloves and helmets our juniors need to take part safely in hardball matches.
"Seeing the enthusiasm our young players have for the game is fantastic, and having this new equipment will make a huge difference to their confidence and safety on the field. A massive thank you to everyone at the fund for supporting our community."
As a volunteer-run community club based at Inch Park, we remain committed to making cricket accessible and enjoyable for all. This latest support from The Googly Fund highlights the importance of small grants in sustaining the future of the sport at a local level.
