Edinburgh South Cricket Club

The following statement, relating to the club, has been issued by Paul Bailey, President of East of Scotland Cricket Association, "Edinburgh South 1st XI have been promoted to Div. 1 in place of Edinburgh CC 1st XI who have been unable to provide a suitable pitch. Congratulations to Edinburgh South who were in Div. 6 ten years ago (named Mitre)."

Although accepting there there could be an appeal the Edinburgh South committee are making plans for playing East First Division cricket in the 2013 season. This will undoubtedly mean an increased challenge but the committee welcome this opportunity. The club's profile will be increased, however, all members, from the First eleven's number one batsman  to the newest member of our Fourth team, will have their part to play in this.

For the record the Firsts finished in third place in their first season in Division 2 in 2012.
