Will George to make international debut

19 Mar 2013

Congratulations to our First XI Captain Will George, who has been selected to play for an East of Scotland XI against Japan.

The right-handed opening batsmen and wicketkeeper has been rewarded for his consistent performances since joining Edinburgh South in 2011.  In two seasons at the club, he has scored over 700 runs in all fixtures, at an average at almost 37.  (He also took 1-18 in a disastrous 3rd XI friendly two years ago - the less said about which the better.)

Edinburgh South allrounder Ian Astley has also been selected as 12th man for the fixture.  Dr. Astley, a senior lecturer in Japanese at the University of Edinburgh, is the former coach of the Japanese national side.

The fixture will take place on Friday 3rd May at Myreside.  Spectators are welcome.
